Founded in 1982, the company brings more than 40 years of hands‑on experience serving the Faroese maritime and industrial sectors.

ETV operates across the full project lifecycle—from design and production to installation, retrofit, and lifecycle support—making the company a reliable long‑term partner for vessel owners, operators, and system suppliers.

ETV has produced over 2,500 breaker panels for the Faroese market and continues to design and manufacture custom systems in‑house, allowing full control of quality, performance, and long‑term support.


Retrofits, upgrades & lifecycle support


ETV specialises in retrofit and upgrade projects, enabling vessels to meet new regulatory, safety, and operational requirements while extending the lifespan of existing systems. This includes complete upgrades of engine room control and alarm systems, maintaining familiar user interfaces while modernising underlying technology.


Electro‑mechanical workshop & in‑house expertise

The company operates a fully equipped electro‑mechanical workshop, providing repair, rewind, re‑engineering, and fault‑handling services for a wide range of marine and industrial equipment. ETV’s multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical engineers ensures fast response, technical precision, and reliable solutions in demanding operating environments.


Proven experience in advanced vessels


ETV has been involved in several high‑profile Faroese vessels, including research, fishing, and special‑purpose ships. One notable example is R/S JÁKUP SVERRI, where ETV delivered complete bridge, automation, control, and switchboard systems for one of the world’s quietest research vessels, built to the Silent‑R standard for low underwater noise.
