Since Faroe Offshore Service was founded in 2010, the company has strived to become a reliable supplier of labor to the oil and gas industry, both on- & offshore.

The staff at Faroe Offshore Service are all experienced professionals, both On- & Offshore, and come from the Faroe Islands, Norway, Iceland, the UK, Sweden and Denmark.

In connection with the provision of manpower, Faroe Offshore Service takes care of all practical matters – including recruitment and selection of personnel, transportation to and from the workplace, insurance, as well as providing all necessary personal protective equipment and work tools.

Job description

Requirements for electricians

A main requirement for being able to work as an independent electrician on projects in Norway is the so-called DSB approval. This is a Norwegian authorization of your electrician education from your home country. On some projects, it may be possible to work as an assistant electrician without DSB approval – but this is only by exception.

To obtain DSB approval, you must provide documentation from one of your previous employers in your home country confirming that you have worked as an independent, qualified electrician for at least one year.

Faroe Offshore Service is happy to assist you in applying for DSB approval.

The more certificates applicants hold – such as FSE, EX, AT/SJA, Fall Protection, and First Aid – the better the job opportunities. While these are not always required by our clients, we strongly recommend applicants to acquire them.

For offshore work, an offshore safety course is mandatory.

Medical Certificate

Turið Holm Johannesen (+298 222555) is an authorized petroleum doctor in Norway and a maritime doctor in the Faroe Islands and is authorized to issue medical certificates.

Georg Egholm (+298 512602) and Pál Weihe (+298 216696) are also doctors who provide this medical certificate.

The medical certificate is valid for two years.

HSE Policy

Faroe Offshore Service places personal safety as the highest priority.

The company works systematically to prevent injuries, accidents, health hazards, or damage to personal property as well as to the property and equipment of others.

All employees of Faroe Offshore Service receive a small safety handbook with a calendar, in which the company’s Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Policy is outlined.

All employees are required to read and comply with the contents of the Safety Handbook.
