A Beautiful Visit to the Port of Vágur

Yesterday, the classic wooden sailing vessel Tecla, captained by Gijs sluik, arrived at the Port of Vágur with four crew members and twelve guests on board.
During their stay, the group is discovering the natural beauty and local life in Vágur before setting course for Lerwick tomorrow.
Built in 1915 in the Netherlands, the Tecla was originally a herring drifter sailing in the North Sea. More than a century later, this elegant two-masted ketch continues to travel the world as a sailing and expedition vessel, now proudly owned and operated by the Sluik family.
- we’re always delighted to welcome such unique and historic ship to our port and hope to welcome her back again in the future, Port of Vagur announces.
