The Atlantic Fair sales exhibition currently taking place in Klaksvík is proving to be a strong platform for Faroese businesses, with local participation already showing tangible results.
On the final day of the exhibition, Bakkafrost Farming and KJ signed an agreement for the delivery of a new aluminium workboat. The contract highlights ongoing investment in maritime operations and underlines the importance of the fair as a meeting place for industry players.
The vessel will measure 9 metres in length and 3 metres in width. It will be equipped with a powerful 300-horsepower engine, a 1.4 ton-metre Palfinger deck crane, and a 2-ton loading bucket. In addition, the boat will feature a bow thruster to enhance manoeuvrability in demanding conditions.
Delivery of the workboat is scheduled for the turn of the year 2026/2027.
The agreement was formally signed at KJ’s exhibition stand at the Atlantic Fair. The company’s stand has drawn considerable attention from visitors, as it has been creatively designed and decorated to resemble an onboard ship environment, offering guests an immersive experience of maritime operations.
