Port of Strendur prioritises development

Sjóvar Municipality has announced plans to further prioritize the Hulki industrial zone as part of its long-term development strategy. Funding has been allocated to connect existing quays, expand the industrial area, and pave Hulkavegur road.

Municipal leaders emphasize that these improvements are crucial for the community’s growth. The upgrades will enable the port to accommodate more vessels while creating additional land-based industrial space. This, in turn, strengthens local business activity and generates increased revenue for the municipal budget—benefiting all residents, even those who never set foot in the harbor.
