Faroese Companies Strengthen Arctic Business Ties at Greenland's PolarExpo 2026

Four Faroese companies were among the exhibitors at PolarExpo 2026 in Ilulissat, Greenland, highlighting the Faroe Islands' continued commitment to developing commercial partnerships across the North Atlantic and strengthening cooperation within the fisheries and maritime sectors.
The exhibition, held from 6-8 October in Ilulissat, brought together more than 50 exhibitors and industry stakeholders from Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, and Denmark.
As Greenland's largest trade fair dedicated to fishing, hunting, and maritime industries, PolarExpo 2026 serves as an important meeting place for suppliers, vessel operators, technology providers, and industry organizations from across the Arctic region.
Strong Faroese Presence
Among the Faroese companies confirmed to have exhibited at the event were Berglon P/F, AWI Boats, Oilwind, and OPUS.FO. Each company actively promoted its participation through official company channels and social media.
Berglon P/F, based in Runavík, announced its participation ahead of the exhibition and welcomed visitors to its stand in Hall A, emphasizing opportunities to discuss fishing equipment and industry solutions with customers and partners.
AWI Boats also maintained a visible presence at the fair, inviting industry professionals to visit its stand and meet company representatives in Ilulissat. The company highlighted the importance of the event as a key gathering point for stakeholders within the Greenlandic fisheries sector.
Fishing equipment manufacturer Oilwind showcased its products and technology at the exhibition, using the event to engage directly with customers and partners operating in Arctic fisheries.
Meanwhile, telecommunications and maritime communications specialist OPUS.FO, together with its partner NORMAR Consult, reported a successful exhibition, citing productive meetings, new business contacts, and strong interest from visitors to its stand.
Building North Atlantic Cooperation
The participation of Faroese companies reflects the growing importance of Arctic and North Atlantic business networks. Fisheries remain a cornerstone industry in both Greenland and the Faroe Islands, creating natural opportunities for cooperation in vessel technology, equipment supply, communications, safety solutions, and sustainable resource management.
Trade fairs such as PolarExpo 2026 provide a valuable platform for Faroese enterprises to strengthen existing relationships, identify new market opportunities, and contribute expertise developed in one of the world's most advanced fisheries sectors.
As Arctic economic activity continues to grow, events like PolarExpo demonstrate the strategic role Faroese businesses can play in supporting innovation, connectivity, and sustainable development across the North Atlantic region.
