German naval ships make routine port call in Tórshavn

Three German naval vessels are currently visiting Tórshavn, where they are docked for a scheduled stopover. The ships—FGS Erfurt and FGS Braunschweig, both around 90 metres in length, and the larger FGS Brandenburg at approximately 139 metres—arrived between May 16 and May 18.

During their stay, the ships are making use of standard harbour services, including bunkering and provisioning. The visit also allows crew members time ashore to rest.

The two smaller vessels are scheduled to depart on May 19, while Brandenburg, which arrived last, will remain until May 22. The call is being handled as a normal operational visit, and the vessels do not carry nuclear weapons.

Overall, the visit is being handled as a routine operation by Tórshavn Port.
