A fire broke out aboard Smyril Line’s new cargo vessel Skipanes on the afternoon of 2 September while the ship was operating in Asian waters. The incident occurred in the engine room but was brought under control and extinguished within a short time. All 23 crew members on board are safe, and no injuries have been reported.
