The Port of Vágur had a busy start to the week, combining ongoing commercial operations with an unexpected visit from the historic sail ship Lola of Skagen. Built in 1919, the Danish vessel made its first-ever call to Vágur while sailing from Stornoway to Iceland.
The nine-person crew was warmly welcomed and spent time exploring the local area, praising both the scenery and visitor facilities. Meanwhile, commercial activity continued as the cargo vessel Silver Copenhagen loaded Faroese products for export.
The visit highlighted Port of Vágur’s growing role as both a commercial hub and an attractive stop for international vessels.
