Vágur – A Maritime Hub

1 min read

Vágur has for many years been an important part of the Faroese maritime industry. With an active business community, strong maritime expertise and a well-equipped harbour, the town is well positioned to provide services to ships, shipping companies, the fishing industry, aquaculture and other maritime businesses.

The new regular freight route between Vágur and Scrabster in Scotland further strengthens Vágur’s position as a maritime hub. With a regular connection to Scotland, Faroese businesses gain new opportunities for freight, transport, exports and imports.

Vágur is home to companies and skilled professionals offering services such as shipyard and maintenance work, mechanical and electrical services, transport, logistics, equipment, IT and other business services. A wide range of additional local services also supports a strong and diverse business environment.

With the new connection to Scotland and a broad range of local services, Vágur is an attractive location for companies operating within the maritime industry and international transport.
