Port of Vágur has today broken ground on the installation of a new 80‑tonne bollard, marking a further investment in the port’s infrastructure.
The new bollard is designed to support the growing number of cruise ship calls and will enhance the port’s capacity to safely accommodate larger vessels in the years ahead.
The project represents another small but significant step in the continued development of Port of Vágur as an attractive and capable cruise destination, strengthening its role within the Faroe Islands’ cruise tourism sector.
Bollard: a thick, low post, usually of iron or steel, mounted on a wharf or the like, to which mooring lines from vessels are attached.
