Anna Kalsø steps down as deputy CEO at J&K Petersen after four years

After four and a half years in a key leadership role, the Deputy CEO and Head of Development at J&K Petersen, Anna Kalsø, has announced her departure from the company.

Her tenure is described as highly rewarding, developmental, and at times demanding, as the organisation navigated both internal and external challenges.

J&K Petersen — a company known for developing many of the Faroe Islands’ most important harbours, quays, and maritime infrastructure projects — has in recent years faced difficult financial conditions. However, following the board’s adoption of a new strategic direction in autumn 2022, the company has seen a marked turnaround.

According to internal figures, the financial results for 2023, 2024, and 2025 were all positive, driven by strengthened operational management, improved productivity, and close cooperation with employees, creditors, and financial institutions. The 2025 financial year concluded with a profit of DKK 17.6 million before tax, underscoring the company’s renewed stability and momentum.

In the past year, J&K Petersen also published its first ESG report, signalling a reinforced commitment to social responsibility and sustainable practices within the Faroese construction and infrastructure sector.

The outgoing Deputy CEO expressed confidence in the company’s future direction, noting that J&K Petersen is well-positioned for continued progress and that she looks forward to following its development from the sidelines. She also extended her best wishes to the company’s many skilled employees.

Looking ahead, she plans to resume advisory work, taking on assignments of varying size within development, leadership, sustainability, and quality management. Additionally, she will be devoting more time to the new training centre, Reformer Pilates Føroyar.
