Environmental Port Index (EPI) has appointed Annfinn Hjelm as its new Chief Commercial Officer, marking a key step in strengthening the organisation’s global commercial strategy.

Hjelm, based in the Faroe Islands, is widely recognised for his expertise in maritime sustainability. His recent presentation at the Association of Pacific Ports Winter Conference highlighted how ports can use EPI’s data‑driven framework to track and reduce emissions—an area where he has become an influential international voice.
Reflecting on this work, Hjelm noted: “I really enjoyed taking part in the APP Winter Conference in beautiful Hawaii, where I presented how EPI supports ports in using data to track positive changes in emissions from cruise ships.”

His appointment reinforces EPI’s commitment to transparent, measurable environmental impact reporting. With Hjelm now leading sales, marketing, and international growth, EPI is positioned for the next phase of its global expansion.
