OCEAN RAINFOREST | Fast and Flexible Mackerel Trawls

This month, Ocean Rainforest had the opportunity to partner with Blue Evolution, a fellow seaweed company, on a kelp project in Kodiak, Alaska. Funded by the Denali Commission, and facilitated by the Kodiak Economic Development Corporation, the goal of this pilot project was to learn how to scale the kelp processing ​methods in Kodiak, Alaska. ​Together they successfully processed 80,000lbs of kelp into a fermented animal feed ingredient for cattle and pigs. Ocean Rainforest share about their excitement to see how this Kodiak kelp will do in farm level studies over the next year!
