A significant phase of the harbor expansion at Hulki is now underway, following the arrival of the new crane. Around five to six years ago, the northern pier was completely rebuilt and extended further out into the fjord, increasing the water depth to 12 meters.
Since then, activity at Hulki has grown substantially.
Last year, the municipal council approved an additional expansion of the quay area at Hulki. The plan extends the northern pier 70 meters southward and the southern pier 20 meters northward.
After the expansion, the northern quay will measure 177 meters in total length, while the southern quay will be 70 meters long.
The project is being carried out by P/F Rókin.
