This summer, Port of Vágur has welcomed 50 sailboats with more than 120 crew members – and more are still expected.
For many, Vágur is their first port of call in the Faroe Islands after long journeys north past the British Isles. Boats typically stay a few days, while the crew rests, explores Vágur and Suðuroy’s attractions, and enjoy the hospitality before sailing on.
Feedback has been positive, with many boats returning. Each year, numbers are growing – a result of the ongoing development of Port of Vágur.
"We’ve invested in improving services, from upgraded facilities to free Wi-Fi on the quay, and we’re committed to making every visit memorable. Most sailboats come from across Europe – but this year, we’ve also welcomed crews from as far away as Australia and the Caribbean." -Port of Vágur says
