New cargo vessel Skipanes registered in the Faroese International Ship Register

The Faroese International Ship Register (FAS) has welcomed another modern addition to its fleet, as the newly built cargo vessel Skipanes, owned by Smyril Line, was officially registered today.

The registration marks another positive development for the Faroese maritime industry and reinforces the continued renewal of the Faroese-controlled fleet. Modern vessels play an important role in maintaining the competitiveness and attractiveness of FAS, while also contributing to a lower average fleet age across the register.

The arrival of Skipanes follows a broader trend highlighted in previous Blue Faroe Islands articles, where Faroese shipping companies continue to invest in new tonnage, strengthen maritime infrastructure and expand their presence in international markets.
