Port of Vágur welcomes largest cruise ship to date
Port of Vágur has reached a new milestone in its growing cruise industry. On 30 July, Phoenix Reisen's MS Deutschland became the largest cruise ship ever to visit Vágur, measuring 175 metres and surpassing last year's record-holder, Seabourn Venture.
The call is another sign of the steady growth of cruise tourism in Suðuroy. This year, Vágur is set to welcome nine cruise calls, including five maiden visits, with both ship and passenger numbers expected to exceed previous years. The development is the result of long-term collaboration between Port of Vágur and Vágur Municipality to establish the town as an authentic and welcoming Faroese cruise destination.
Cruise tourism continues to create value for local businesses and the wider community, while giving visitors the opportunity to experience the unique culture, nature and hospitality of Suðuroy.
To support future growth, Port of Vágur has also invested in infrastructure improvements, including a new 80-ton bollard to accommodate larger vessels. Further developments are planned in the coming years.

The topic of learning responsibility through cadet education gives me a few things to think about, especially when the discussion moves beyond general advice. Shared responsibilities can turn discipline into a daily habit rather than a list of rules. That connection helps me see why cadet leadership training can be worth a closer look. I do not have a settled view yet, but this seems like a good place to slow down and look more closely. How can a cadet programme encourage initiative as well as teamwork?
Współczesne technologie informatyczne rozwijają się bardzo szybko, dlatego materiały edukacyjne powinny koncentrować się nie tylko na konkretnych narzędziach, ale także na podstawowych zasadach działania systemów. Artykuły o programowaniu, sieciach, bazach danych, bezpieczeństwie oraz chmurze mogą tworzyć solidną bazę wiedzy. Szczególnie wartościowe są poradniki zawierające praktyczne przykłady, dzięki którym czytelnik może samodzielnie przetestować omawiane rozwiązania.
Profesjonalne szkolenie pilotów wymaga połączenia wiedzy teoretycznej, praktyki oraz bardzo dobrego przygotowania do sytuacji nietypowych.
