The Faroe Islands Maritime Museum (Føroya Sjósavn) and SMJ have signed a principal consultancy agreement, marking an important milestone in the development of the museum’s new building.
With the agreement in place, the project to prepare and design the new museum facility now moves forward into a clearly defined next phase. The contract was signed by Heini Hátún, Director of the Faroe Islands Maritime Museum, and Johan J. Joensen, Director of SMJ.

The parties look forward to continuing the project in close and professional collaboration with their sub-consultants: Arkitektar 99, Lofti Arkitekter, SPENN Consulting Engineers, and Gade & Mortensen Akustik AS. Jóhan Magnus Gunrim has been appointed as project design manager.

Special recognition is also given to David Geyti, who, on behalf of the Faroe Islands Maritime Museum, has contributed significant work in bringing the project to its current stage.
With the start of this next phase, work on the project now intensifies, and the partners express their enthusiasm about being part of its continued development.
